The light dims
And goes out
I grope in the darkness
And try not to shout
As fear grips my soul
I move cautiously
So I don’t fall into a hole
A hole so deep
I can’t escape
Unless I’m Superwoman
And can fly and have a cape
I feel for you in the darkness
But come up with only air
The walls feel like they’re closing in
And all I can do is stand and stare
Where are you?
How did you find the way?
I’m so scared
That I’ll have to stay
Then the light flicks on
As I see you near
My feet come unglued
As my fear disappears
As your arms wrap around me
I hold on tight
Knowing now that I’d only been trying to find
A light
