Light Has Opened My Eyes Poem by Kellyn, A Grau

Light Has Opened My Eyes

Maroon blossoms leave their mark in the air
Fingers strike the petals while I sit and stair
Heart wanders off on an unknown sea
The shadows swarm and love to touch me
Blood drips from my bare finger tips
Healing touch is placed as the winter’s breath nips
The ends turn to scabs and the transformations ended
I thought it was so easy to just be pretending
Immortality taints my forlorn soul
Hair flows by my face as the winds make me whole
Their wonderful aroma seeps into my nose
My eyes open and my bodies exposed
The shadows swarm me and feel me with woes
The blood stains the flowers and then an emotion flows
The smell of contentment and the feeling of despaired
The worry over powers me and then you see I’m scared
Don’t mourn for me, I’ll be just fine
My hearts bound to bruises and pain combined
My vision was darkened and then I was blind
But now the light dose touch my soul
And misery will not take its toll
