Light Of Day, Long-Lost Day Poem by Barry Blander

Light Of Day, Long-Lost Day

Worlds of light
Stream past
The pale shoulders
Of nascent night
Dream, we dream
A love so rare
Oh, darling one
Let me untie the misty ribbons
In your hair
And secretly,
Oh so quietly now
We will visit
The lions, who
Lie somnolent
In their lair.

Because of you
The blind man
Revels in the gift
of treasured sight
Because of you
Measured strands
Of perfect pearl
Round, all so round
Are all the children
Wear, and day,
Long-lost day
Is finally found.
