Light Of Insult In Machine Room

In the chamber of machines
burns the light of insult—
I have hung my humiliations
like relics in small rooms.

My friend knows nothing,
nor does he care;
his envies I have wrapped
in golden foil.

A fool, estranged from kin,
I have learned the price of flattery—
how godfathers smile at gilded praise.
Yet Time Eternal—
what a strange astonishment!

So from the beginning, alone,
I gathered what I understood,
collected tears fallen on the road.
After bathing, I sit here,
arranging them,
inscribing letters in the crimson glow
of insult's jewels.

If ever someone, someday,
discovers this hidden trove,
strike me freely,
and carve my tomb
with the chisels of insult.

#যন্ত্রঘরে রাখা সেই অপমান আলো

অপমানগুলো আমি ঝুলিয়ে রেখেছি সব ছোট যন্ত্রঘরে
বন্ধু জানে না কিছু, খোঁজ ও রাখে না আজ!
আমি তার হিংসা গুলো
সোনার রাংতা দিয়ে সাজিয়ে রেখেছি!
নিতান্ত গবেট আমি, দাদা দিদি বিলক্ষণ থেকে দূরে আছি
বুঝেছি কাঞ্চনমূল্য আর তোষামোদ পেলে
গডফাদারেরা না কি খুব খুশি হয়, কিন্তু মহাকাল ও! এ কেমন বিস্ময়!
সেজন্য প্রথম থেকে একা একা থেকে থেকে যা কিছু চিনেছি
সেগুলো সংগ্রহ করে রাস্তা থেকে পাওয়া সব কান্না জমিয়েছি
স্নান করবার পরে এই যন্ত্রঘরে বসে আমি সেগুলো সাজাই
এবং অক্ষর আঁকি অপমান মাণিক্যের লহুর প্রভায়
যদি কেউ কোনও দিন সে সন্ধান পাও
যথেচ্ছ আঘাত দিও, অপমান দিয়ে এঁকো সমাধি আমার ।
