Lights Burden 05 Poem by Kira Bloom

Lights Burden 05

It is strange to think that I walk in the day
Breathe and relish every dropp of golden light
But when I wish to feel life
I turn to the night
It is strange to know
That every one I hold close dwells in the day
Living instead of dreaming it away
Unlike me
My skin is pale and my eyes are dark
They represent the sky
And I look to the wild
I look to the see
Wander moon lit paths and embrace the shadows
I find life in every step
Sadness and hope in every cry
It is in the night that I dare to fly
This is where I make my dreams come alive
Speak what is truly on my mind
I don’t have to hide
It consumes my day time lies
I can be dark or light
I can walk with out fright
Be myself who dare to be honest
Who are contrite
We all work and sigh in lonely lives
But when the sun leaves
We show our true colors
Our true face
With out the burden of light
To give our secret longings away
