Like A Diamond Poem by James Crieta

Like A Diamond

Be like a diamond shining bright!
Bring souls to life, leave but no one
Beware yourselves, do not lose sight.

Men, be the roses' bravest knight
Or women, in the longest run
Be like a diamond shining bright!

Shan't fear the height, but too much flight
Hard but fragile, collide and done!
Beware yourselves, do not lose sight.

Procured from pain, in life ignite!
Afraid be not when darkness gone
Be like a diamond shining bright!

Seek not the deed of hiding light
Brainstorm with minds so sane! If none,
Beware yourselves, do not lose sight.

For on the lofty throne you won
With looks expensive you can stun
Be like a diamond shining bright!
Beware yourselves, do not lose sight.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem was written in dedication to my students who were undergoing a very big change in their lives. It's not that big, but they view it as a major turning point of their friendship. I wrote this one with hopes of motivating them to see their biggest challenge as something that could make them and not break them. Hence, I made a metaphor of them with a diamond.
