Like An Anchored Weight Poem by Julie Rutherford

Like An Anchored Weight

Rating: 5.0

Like an anchored weight
my mind, my heart, my soul
lies on the ocean floor
unable to breathe...
love, that has turned in on itself
becoming a tyrannical force

Freedom
white light
beckoning, on the horizon
always I have
searched for you
yearning, in vain
to be set free
from servitude,
the final,

letting go
