Like Silk Poem by kellymarie middleton

Like Silk

Destiny sometimes sashays
in through basket clouds
begging to shimmer
when prayer is only light
to cradle dreams softly.

Under constant constellations
never letting me fall
into the tempting
of tantalizing midnight moon
I penned wishes by candlelight
never imagining
you would whisper your way in through the walls
that only love could bring down.

And now moments flutter past
a kiss on the cheek soft
like silk.
