Link Poem by Alex McCullough

Link

The youth in my veins comes to life,
As the keys jingle at my side,
Clinging together as my feet meet the ground,
Gaining closer to you.
In a dream so silent I couldn't even move,
Caught in the trance of your eyes like the night,
Nothin else seemed to be happening at that moment,
But the feelings deep within told me something different.
Moments like that,
Aren't supposed to happen,
So controlling with a single gaze,
That it sweeps me off my feet,
And right back into your fantasy.
The youth in my veins comes to life,
As I hurry to where the night holds you are now,
With the illusion of myself in your arms hinting me,
On how to make that into a reality.
Calling out your name,
My heart does,
Silently praying that you somehow hear its cry,
So this link of fate can become a chain.
