Lip Service Poem by Ali Farah

Lip Service

Why pretend to care?
When need is so clear
Momentarily obtainable
You look for answers
That no longer suits
The yearning predicament
And knowing the outcome
Will not gonna solve

Why create a hope?
With a false promise
That buys nothing
But temporary convenience
And when the delivery is due
You skillfully claim
'Sympathy I have done it'
And the rest was to follow

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Now days people pretend to care and sometImes pay a lip service.
It is good to talk and acknowledge a problem and it is even better to make a pledge to help but what really matters at end is the delivery part of that pledge.

We are in world that many serious problems are seen or categorized as 'Everybody's Problem' and that each one is leaving others to take the lead in dealing with it.
