Listen! Poem by mark tallant

Listen!

Listen, when the sunshine’s above the clouds
It tells everyone a new day has come.
And as it smiles its broad beam
Lights up my face and warms my heart.
Listen to the stream, looks like lace
Start its journey to the shore.
And will soon embrace
Its mothers arms once more.
Listen too, the calling of the birds.
Sing there way to work.
Bringing home a vision
This days the one.

Pray for your daddy says son life’s one big fight
Pray when your mammy says you’d better get it right
pray to the voice that beats at your head at night
pray to the vicar say Its all the devils plight
pray for the boy in the street His fist closed tight

Think of me from time to time
Listen in the breeze and to the grape vine.
Don’t be mean when you talk to me
My soul no longer lies still but flies free
Remember me When you’re lost or black
I hold the key its wisdom Brings you back.
Listen! If you hear my time has come.
I’ve more, much more to listen to,
Than the deep dark valley where my soul went to
Now I see the light and It sits looking bright.
Here’s to better times of dreams and simple things.
Here's to hopes a finer future brings.

Pray for your daddy says son life’s one big fight
Pray when your mammy says you’d better get it right
pray to the voice that beats at your head at night
pray to the vicar say Its all the devils plight
pray for the boy in the street His fist closed tight
