Listening To Silence.. Poem by Connetta Jean

Listening To Silence..

Rating: 5.0

Out in the woods
near a old Apple tree
I found a small cabin
where a home used to be..
her windows long broken
(no doors did she wear)
But she seemed to be smiling
as if expecting me there..
So I sat in the leaves
from the old apple tree
Listening as her silence
spoke loudly to me..
In that silene was memories
of a home safe and warm..
where love filled the walls
and and new babies were born..
Where old walls remember
the laughter and tears
that go into living
and dying through years..
i sat in the woods
till the day turned to dark..
listening in the silence
to old walls that talk...
