Little Details Poem by Mara Manzano

Little Details

I could remember perfectly on how it used to beWhen we were happy, just you and me
There are things you don't know, but today I'll spill
Those little details I love about you, I'll reveal

The caps you wear, they suit you perfectly
Your nerdy glasses, it makes you see clearly
I love how you wear dark clothes everyday
It's strange how I find you cute in every way

I still remember how you wear ripped up jeans
You wear them at practice and it shows your knees
I could still recall how awesome you are in playing the guitar
Even with your eyes closed you still play like a rockstar

I'd never forget how you love watching tennis on TV at night
You think I would get bored, but I'm with you so it's alright
How you love eating pizza and burrito for dinner
I tried forgetting these things but why does it seem to get clearer

I remember how you try so hard to learn the piano
And how you never gave up until I learned to let go
I'm sad cause everything seems ironic now
Makes me ask if the show's over and if I need to bow

But if I have to, I know there's one thing I won't forget
That not so long ago, there's this man I can't resist
Because of the little details in him, I loved them all
For those are the reasons that made me fall.
