Little Places Poem by Mindy Hrabstock

Little Places

Inside the tunnel
You laid
Sick
Wet
Cold
I joined beside you
I saw you
I paid

Inside the car
Afraid
You stayed
Crying out alone
I came
To ride with you
To die with you
In vain

Inside the motel room
So high
Your lie
Inside
I died
To heal you
To love you
I tried

Inside the little tent
The pleasure needle bent
Ashamed
Bed made
Empty house, nothing claimed
You took me
You broke me
Never the same
