Once upon a long ago,
I bathed below the sun,
Deeply tuned to summers glow,
I'd felt the day been won.
I must have been there for some time,
In my melancholy trance,
For now the sunlight so sublime,
Was gone when I took a glance.
Now above was endless gray,
Where the shining sun had been.
Never would this hurt my day,
No rain, nor thunder, nor wind.
I'd begun to walk away,
Before rain came to pour...
But decided I would stay,
For whatever was in store.
And soon enough there came a drip,
From the dull and dreary sky,
Then bright lightning made a rip,
Followed suite by thunder's cry!
While others ran for cover,
I myself just wouldn't give,
Whether sun or clouds hover,
I never forget to live.
