We lived and breathed to pursue
the glue that held life together.
But you perished
into the flames of your desire.
We were once a tale
that will be sung one day.
You forgot we held hands
and swore under the skies.
We fought, we fell
while others pretend they didn’t see.
You refused to look into my eyes
to see that we did promise.
We were to conquer forever
until I became the lone soldier.
Pick up the pieces and read them,
if you don’t believe me.
