Locked Down - Poem by Janine Alyssa Navarro

The blaze is everywhere
arms flailing about
terrified for flight
reach out to the resonance.

Adapt to the sun
scream overload;
wait for the scorched pit
low in balm, stay engulfed.

I flew out the splintered door
the past bleeds on the floor
here come the monster;
I woke up, locked down.
