Living The Dream Poem by Christopher Tye

Living The Dream

Living The Dream

Living for today, is all that's left,
For me, there be no tomorrows,
Too many mistakes haunting my dreams,
Carpe Diem they all say to me,
Living the dream is all that's left.

Living against all the odds,
My life and my journey,
To be done my way at all costs,
Damn the consequence's and walk tall,
And not to yield to convention,
And spend eternity on my knees,
Living the dream, my dream.

No great destiny for me,
Just living the life I led,
At odds with life I journeyed,
Towards my date with death's door,
Returning to the earth that bore me,
Living the dream, until time runs out.

Too many broken hearts and one night stands,
Always falling for the wrong girl,
Passion seeping too deep in my heart,
As slim waists catch my eye,
Drifting into my heart and dreams,
Living the dream, for love.
