Living This Moment With You Poem by Ivan Chizurum Ezeigbo

Living This Moment With You

The last time I saw you
You told me you'll never fall in love again
But you never asked what I thought
Probably, because you didn't care
I can remember
When you told me you loved me
You called it just words, I call it lies
That day you saw me walk home
With tears in my eyes
Now you want to give us a break
And then you will be breaking us
I could not stop myself when I told you how I felt
And you said you thought we were just friends

Today, again
My world was crashing down
And I felt I was crashing alongside
But when I looked into your eyes
Very close into them
Close enough to hear you breathe
The time stopped
We had seized two minutes off the clock
That moment
If you said we could just be friends
I would not agree more
Because all that only matters to me
Is to be with you

In the future
When I'll be sitting on the sun
I would never forget
And can never forget
This little moment I ask you
To let us stop a second, or a minute, or an hour, or a day
One more time
To let me experience that moment
One more time
To let me enjoy this moment with you
We could go wherever you wish
We could fly over seas and oceans
We could be weightless again
Just like those two epic minutes
Since this is my last wish of you
Will you grant them to me?
