Lizzie Poem by Madison Massarello

Lizzie

The carpet stained with eulogies
reflects the tantalizing french doors
that create a nexus to the sermon.
It's his brother.

Poisonous morals drip into deceiving ears.
His subjective tongue curls a dichotomy between
content death and decaying existence.

Neither romance nor desire exists.
Only numb skulls.
A lonesome narrative suggests
collective compliance
towards
Jesus Christ Superstar!

For all I can see,
A platonic friendship under the pool table.
