Lockdown Poem by Rehan Rahaman

Lockdown

Locked in our houses
We missed the smile of people faces
Some were separated from their loving ones
Some even can't say goodbye to them once
Many lives were lost
Poor people spend days with hunger and thirst
A mist of fear surrounds us
No one could hear the sound of train or bus
Road was alone swings were empty
But doctors, police and some people were still fulfilling their duty
Scientists were working day and night
Searching for a vaccine to give this covid a tough fight
Every government did its best
Worked hard to save its people with zest
For workers with uncertain incomes
It was really hard situation to overcome
Some went into depression
In this challenging session
Prayers did rose
Even when worshipping places were closed
For the ones who were earlier busy whether a husband-wife or son-father
It was a time for them to understand each other
Pollution becomes less
Animals and plants enjoyed the new environment taste
Many people learned many things
