Locking Eyes Poem by Justina Nicole Haner

Locking Eyes

I remember us locking eyes as we hustled into school
We smiled, blushed, and walked away towards the rooms
It was a marvelous day when our eyes locked: hazel and blue

Maybe being able to lock eyes means something to me
It was a hot summer day until your icy blue eyes froze my body
The cool blue of your eyes chilled me, my hazel eyes warmed you

Remembering that day makes me chilly in a sweet sense
I wonder sometimes if you think of the meeting of our eyes
Hazel eyed girl + blue eyed boy= warm sensation
