I see no stars
Just this dim white light
All I have is you
The love of my life

Every time I close my eyes
You're always there
I can't escape your presence
You never play fair

I'm hopeless helpless
Defenseless senseless
I meant this
As a simple ode

To the love of my life
Who is here with me
Yet
I can't hold
Intangible

I see no stars
Just these concrete walls
All I have is you
These flaws

There are so many
One would grow dizzy
If one were so inclined
To count them

I am young yet over the hill
I am old yet haven't learned enough
Still there is hope for me
Hope Alas!

If only I could set my mind and heart
To this task
Look into the future and
Let go of the past

To embrace
To enjoy
To receive
In all its glory
The love of my life
