Lonely Lawn Poem by Subhengi Ghosh

Lonely Lawn

Rating: 5.0

Lonely Lawn
Cool breeze touched me from every side,
And it made me realize that winters are coming with its pride.
Sitting down lonely on the soft green lawn,
I was absorbed in my thoughts till the day turned into dawn.
My thoughts were restless without any meaning and was full of truth and lie,
At times of my past, at times present or my future;
But the feeling was so different that it made me cry.
If anybody asks me what did you see in your thought?
I won’t be able to tell anything but I knew I was everywhere in my thought.
The difference is that I saw myself with everybody in my thinking,
But today in reality there is no one and my life appears as a ship which is sinking.
Relations changed and old replaced new.
I know these new will also slowly turn into few.
Slowly night came and the lawn turned into dark,
There was murmuring of insects and roadside dogs began to bark.
I stood up and was walking back towards my cottage,
Just then;
I looked back at the lawn and saw it was lonely and dark;
Just as my old age.
