Lonely Prince Poem by Brent Piper

Lonely Prince

There once was a girl
A girl who was loved by many
But not herself
She would look in the mirror
And ignore her beauty

She would ignore this beauty
That othere would see
The smile which could lit a room up
The killer dimples that could make you drop
Her big piercingly beautiful eyes
Could look in your soul
And see all your sins and lies

But there was a boy who couldn't ignore
The pure beauty that he saw
He couldn't ignore what she didn't see
He couldn't ignore her beauty
He would try his best to make her happy
Because all he wants is not to see her unhappy

He wants her to see
What everyone else sees and envies
He wants her to love herself
Like he does
He wants her to stop faking her smiles
He wants to be her sunshine

But she doesn't want sunshine,
She wants to feed the darkness
Of self-worthlessness
But the boy just wants, just wants
To make her his princess.
