Long Days Poem by Camilla Keenan Koch

Long Days

Rating: 5.0

My lover once told me
“I love you, you make the day seem so long.”
and so, with wounded vanity,
but because of his name
for what he meant to me
I took the time
to hear him say
Life is good.
Take time
make time in time.

moments previous.
I saw those trees
now orange lit
nighttime city
when I saw them green
and all white globes
on the other side of my window
winter twig geometry
unwarning,
transformed.

Time inside time
a moment so long/my lover, who told me/
unwritten/what is a day
