Long Gone Poem by Seth Hood

Long Gone

Rating: 5.0

Today I bury a long lost friend
Oh God why'd things have to end?
I guess it's for the best
And I know the rest
Life moves forward
It was the work of the Lord
Things are better this way
Everything was an endless fray,
I'll start from scratch
Open an escape hatch
Run far away
And low I will lay,
I still can't believe it happened
Survival has to be scavenged
I stand in shock.
As my world beings to rock.
Teetering on chaos and control
It hit me in full,
Like a head on hurricane
And I'm drenched in the rain
Rise from the ruins I shall
And i will not fall,
I shall not faulter,
And my life I wont alter,
Times like these show inner strength:
And your endurance's length,
A clean slate.
Now I determine my fate
For I am long gone
But I wont frown.
