Longevity - A Sonnet Poem by Richard St. Clair

Longevity - A Sonnet

To some my health is good, to others, poor,
The aches and pains just keep on adding up:
Overflowing is my karmic cup;
Escape I into books of ancient lore.
What else on earth am I to do? my age
Is adding up, I feel it every day.
How long I'll last is anyone to say:
For now I'm resolute to turn the page.
Yes, "turn the page" is the story of my life,
If anyone has the foolish bent to read it;
Don't need a guru tell me how to lead it,
I own my feelings, though their pain is rife.
And when my time comes, as I know it will,
I'm grateful still that my life fit the bill.
