Look At Me Poem by Hiba H Zantout

Look At Me

Look into my eyes; you’ll be able to see a small reflection
Of the world I created in my mind
Look into my heart; you’ll be able to see a few
Of the people that are locked inside
Look into my soul; you’ll be able to see some
Of the things I believe in
Look into my mind; you’ll be able to see a part
Of the things I think about

Look at my face; you’ll be able to see some
Of the things that happened to me
Look at my body; you’ll be able to see a slice
Of the life that I am living

Look at me as a girl; you’ll be able to see
That I lived as an adult
Look at me as a woman; you’ll be able to see
That I live with the heart of a child
Look at me as a teenager; you’ll be able to see
The lost soul, mind, heart, and eyes
That search for a guide
Look at me as me; you’ll see exactly what
Hides inside, appears outside
You’ll see me
