You'd take the food right out of my hand, and I'd watch you eat it
You'd belittle me in front of the world, and I would nod in approval
You'd slap the phone out of my hand, and I'd leave it and keep walking
I allowed you to use me as a doormat for the longest time
Somehow my heart needed you
You kept me together despite how much you hurt me
It's funny how things changed though
How my success brought you pain
How you had to bully me to feel better
How my pain brought you joy
But funniest of all was how I knew I'd eventually leave
Funny how having nobody in my life was better than having you
After so much pain, I stood up for myself, then waited for a way out
Your friendship was nothing but deceit and disrespect
It was just a matter of time until I'd find a way
My life was in your grasp, in your fingertips
You took my ball and brought into your court
But I was right wasn't I?
I found my way out
Eventually this was all going to end
You dropped that ball
And when you did I picked it up and ran with it
I had my ball back in my fingertips and brought it back to my court, where I make the rules
No longer will I allow this
No longer will you be allowed into my life
I refuse to be a whipping boy to my 'best friend'
You had opportunities, and you made all the wrong decisions
You've done nothing to show you're worthy of me
Now that I don't have you, I am so much better off than I ever would be with you
So look at me now
I'm going places
The world is in my hands
I'll turn my successes into masterpieces with this world as my witness
And by the time the clouds fall from the sky
By the time the mountains fall into the sea
By the time that this world is no more
It will have seen that I am better than you
