I bought myself a brand new heart,
Young as I could possibly afford,
I had not lived,
To experience new feelings again

I bought myself a brand new heart,
One without the lies,
One not harbouring hate,
One without the stains of imperfection

I bought myself a brand new heart,
Still in its packet,
Desperate to be let free,
I can hear it calling out to me,

I bought myself a brand new heart,
Trying to find someone to share it with,
New sensation to give it sustenance,
Show it how I work,

I bought myself a brand new heart,
Although I know another’ll break it,

But I can’t stop,
I will keep on buying.
