Looking... - Poem by Resa Lynn

When I saw you looking at me,
I used to be scared and,
I always wondered why,
But day after day,
I got used to it,
But then it had to be this day when
You started talking to me
It was weird,
I used to hate you,
But now,
This feeling,
When I see you
I want to be with you
We had a chance
And I messed it up
You were in the rebound
You chose her
And you started liking her
You totally forgot about me
And then, I cried
I couldn’t sleep
The beautiful dreams of you became
Dark and all I could see
You and her forever
It used to be me
And now
It’s her
I wanted us to be together always
But then
You chose a bad time
It got to me, practically killed me
And I had to reject you
But you know deep inside
You’ll always be the one
That stole this endless heart
I’ve being wondering why her
Why me, why you?
It’s a fact not a dream
And sooner or later
I’ll have to accept the truth
You chose her
And forever
I will stay in the dark

Everyone goes through this stage in life, watching from the sidelines. I've been there. It's hard not to be the one, but eventually it passes and you know it isn't the one you want.

Thanks for the contribution of the poem.
