Looking For A Place

“It matters not what people say
With me there’s nothing wrong
My health is fine my life’s okay
I’m never down for long

I stand-alone and always will
In man I place no trust
I’m here to live to get my fill
Before I turn to dust

For what I’m worth, I’ve none to thank
I’ve done it all for me
I’m young and well, I owe no bank
My mansion mortgage free

I have a bible in my room
It’s still wrapped up as new
I’ve heard it’s full of death and gloom
And all about the Jew

I’ve been to church but found it cold
I came out feeling sad
The songs they sang were all so old
Not one to make me glad

I’ve heard of other churches though
With joy they sing and dance
Now there’s a place I’d like to go
If I would have the chance

Like you I’d share my personal view
I’d gladly raise my hand
Like you my friend when born anew
I too would understand”
