Loose Binding Poem by Daniel I Brown

Loose Binding

Remembering when
Everything meant more
We spent endless moments in the past
Pondering purpose and point
So loosely hung on our questions
We never found any answers
Just more propositions from the past
Just more inquiries from those people we don’t see
Constantly watching us
Bearing the answers in their essence…
If we could communicate with the dead
Would we stop questioning death itself?
Or become more bound by it?
As time echoes on and on
My wonder consumes my awe
My awe gives way to curiosity
Curiosity becomes puzzlement
Puzzlement collapses into disappointment
Disappointment breeds hate
Hate evolves into fear
And thus in the end I am bound by it…
And it by me
