Lord Hear My Knocking

From further sin I’ll take no part
Lord bring me back to You
Please purify my ailing heart
And cleanse my soul anew

I’ve failed to walk the road of Light
Your straight and narrow path
Shameful soiling my robe of white
Earning Your fearful wrath

For once again I erred and strayed
When self began to rule
When love through lust began to fade
Playing the devil’s fool

I should have seen I should have known
I should have paid more care
I should have sought Your glory throne
Instead of Satan’s snare

You taught the truth, displayed it well
You made my eyes to see
I’m on the road that leads to hell
Instead of being free

There is no but, excepting fault
Foolish self defect
Sailing upon life’s sea of salt
Until my ship lies wrecked

Repenting of each foolish crime
On bended knees I pray
Allow me on The Rock to climb
Please free my soul today

Once more a sinner seeks Your face
This side of hell’s wide door
Upon Your love and saving grace
My God I now implore
