Lore And Lessons: How They End Up In My Sad Sonnets Poem by Annalee H

Lore And Lessons: How They End Up In My Sad Sonnets

all my sonnets end up about boys and my grievances
or my failed allegiances and weaknesses
maybe i should try writing about puppy dogs and dopamine or the things i see in my daydreams
but i always end up back here, writing until my heart is glued back together at the seams

i like the way these rhymes scratch my brain
how they heal the parts of me i cannot reach,
and the intricate parts of me they contain
all conveyed through different figures of speech

pages of various lore and lessons
unfinished relationships and first impressions
here, my words are only up to my discretion
long live my happiest times and deepest depressions
or my greatest achievements and greatest transgressions
i find solace in this being my favorite form of expression
