Losing A Friend Poem by Kendra Schoenthal

Losing A Friend

Rating: 5.0

Losing a friend is hard.
You remeber all the things you did with them.
Your heart breaks at the sight of them going.
You don't know what to do,
Because
They were the only thing that kept you straight.
The days follow
Your breaking inside
Knowing that there not coming back.
You finally let your emotions free but,
Your a train wreck
You cry for hours and hours
But the pain doesn't stop.
You realize this isn't what they'd want you to do.
They want you to live life like you did when they were
There.
But now that you know that you only feel a numb
Feeling inside that's a nice feeling.
Losing a Friend is hard but you need to know that a friend is
A friend no matter where they are.

“Losing a Friend” The title itself is of full lonely emotion since it is dealing with losing. Especially so, if losing the dearest friend just like the writer conveyed. I am only wondering if the friend whom you are referring to is dying for not coming back, or just shifting place… because if he/ she is just going to another place, far from you, chances are, there will be a coming back or a continued contact. Yeah, sometimes, being numb for a reason is a good thing for good. And yes, the end line is true; friends are friends no matter where they go. Nice poem!
