Lost Poem by Adelina Amare

Lost

I wish to get lost in this music,
Yet I am forced to do useless work.
I could drown in these otherworldly tones;
Instead I am constantly being irked
By the undesirable tasks of life
And the burdens of the future.
I am depriving myself
Of the one thing that keeps me nurtured.

The melody is begging me to stay,
Urging me to explore,
Yet I will not finish this work by the deadline
If I do not close the door.
I will close it gently, though,
Whispering a promise that I will come again
And get lost in this gallery of sound
When the dreary work finally comes to an end.
