Clarence Dumas

Lost - Poem by Clarence Dumas

the news talked about you for only a week
though I'm sure you were lost long before
you became the most wanted man in our country
you lost something that meant everything to you
punishment for being an honest man
for defending the integrity of a long corrupt structure
for only doing what you thought was right
and just as you had lost your dream
you lost your mind too
