Lost In My Thought Poem by Ashley Howell

At first I thought I was dreaming
and that I had to open my eyes to get out
but after a few times of trying
I just wanted to shout
It seems i'm trapped in this world
with no way to leave
no way to see
or anyway to breathe
I dont know how ima get out
I dont even know how I got in
Theres no food, no water
This must be a sin
I know I didnt do anything wrong
I probably didnt do anything right
All I know is that I came in this world
Without even the littlest fight
Who would've known
I wouldn't get caught
Laying on the hard ground
being lost in my thought
No, I will never wake up
I'm better this way
Without worrying about seeing
the night or the day
I'd prefer to be lost
lost in my own brain
then to see the real world
and drive myself insane
