Lost In The Dust Of Love - Poem by Sarah Floress

i find myself staying up late
watching my thoughts drift to you
the way your hair descends upon your face
and the way your lips look

when they form the words
you know i love to hear.
am i being fair?
or am i giving you too much credit

for my wandering thoughts
and hopeless dreams
unfortunately nothing is what it seems
youll turn out to be the bad guy

in this never ending game
ill have you, then lose you
reason being you broke my heart
the warm dreams I used to have

will turn to chilling nightmares
and any love i used to feel
will be gone in one breath of air.
