Lost Love Poem by Cat Windham

Lost Love

so near to them yet the farthest away,
their breath you feel but so lonely anyway
through times of peril and times of happiness
you trusted them, no matter what kind of trouble, any mess
was never enough to seperate you, now you sit there alone
as you watch them leaving you, now there they go
off to the world, never again to be yours
no longer will their touch be as it was before
you feel as if the world is no more
for now they leave you forever alone
now you think of a way out of this mess
and you think no longer that cruel is death
but no, you turn quickly away, there is too much at stake
to let your life be ended by this heartache
you feel alone in these feelings but that is not true
I have been the same, alas I have been hurt too
though afraid of love, i might always be
you must learn of healing, like it has been happining to me
for many long years i have suffered at the hand of despair
i have yet gone on, and i have dared
to send this message to one and all
and to you i send this plead, this call
to not break this chain, send it to all you know
and help comfort all of the heartbreaks in the world and so
ending the world of pain and self causing death of many
so they might see the world is not at an end for an eternity
maybe one day love will knock at their door, maybe not
but this comfort is one that many have sought
that one day you will heal, the pain will fade
and that somewhere, there will always be a new day
