Lost Soul Poem by Michael Peterson

Lost Soul

Rating: 5.0

See you across the room
The place is crowded
But you are all alone
The aroma in here is sweet
The people are talking
Dishes crashing in the back
Coffee a brewing, hard working crew
The food flowing thru the aisle
Waitresses running the orders
Cooks frying the food
The hostess greeting everyone
But you are all alone at the counter
Sitting there lost in this busy world
Forgotten by most, even here
The years were not kind
Beaten and worn by the long hours
The abuse you have been taking by many
Hard to believe you made it this long
All the talks you have heard
The stories you could tell
From deaths to births
The proposals to the break ups
Many tears and laughter
You heard them all
The great wins, painful loses
Sat thru many wars
Seen lots of generations pass by
Only if everyone knew you
They would love to hear your story
One day you'll be gone
You will be replaced by another
It's amazing how wonderful and comfortable you are
Till the next time I see you
Enjoy the many stories and discussions you'll hear
I will be forever joyed by our time together
I have written so many poems with you
My hidden critic and comfy friend
So long my friend, till the next seating
