Ted Christopher

Love - Poem by Ted Christopher

Bluer than water in the sea
Greener than leaves found on a tree
It is in you and me
Yes, you and me - my love

We’re more colorful than a picture in a magazine
Happier than an actor in an unrealistic scene
When the world is unclean

It’s safer than a vehicle that can fly
Better than a drug that makes you high
Just give it a try, before it all will die

Bluer than a picture of the sky
Greener than the grass that lies…
…Beneath you and I
Yes, you and I – my love

We’re more beautiful than artwork in a cathedral hall
Livelier than a mannequin in a suburban shopping mall
When the world is small

It’s lighter than a man on the moon
But heavier than a playground on a Sunday afternoon
In an air balloon, I’ll find you soon

It’s sharper than a dagger
More lethal than a knife
And I’m higher than a kite
When I’m with you – my love.
