Love Poem by Elizabeth Darkeagle

Love

Rating: 4.5

Please I ask,
Dont leave
I love you,
I have always loved you
But you say no,
You dont want to hurt me
And this isnt hurting me?
I yell angry at him
Fine If you want to go,
Go
and never come back,
I hate you
I never loved you,
I cry
He sees my hurt,
I would die for you he says
But I do not want you to die for me,
He says softly
He comes closer,
As if to hold me
I push him away,
I feel his hurt and am instantly sorry
I-,
I start but do not know what to say
I am on my knees,
facing away from him
He gently puts his hand under my chin,
I look up
he kisses me softly,
I hope one day I will understand
Why he left,
With just a kiss goodbye
But as I sit outside his house,
I see someone leave
And instantly I know why,
He did not want me to become
Like him,
A creature of the night
To drink the blood of the living,
To lose my humanity
But I did anyway,
I do not want him to know
So I leave
missing him,
but all the same
Loving him for his sacrifice.

Once again, beautifully written. Sad, but beautiful: ( :)
