We went round the city
made of colourful picture cards.
All around us innumerable dreamy bubbles
with their little rainbows
rose up in the air like a halo.
And we played hide and seek
in the fabulous sandcastles on the beach,
ate chocolate dreams at the kiosk,
waded in the ice cream rink
and rode the breeze carpet
through the boulevards of rosy clouds
to the sunset zone…
In the end, we realized
we had hardly touched each other
lest the bubbles burst
and the world came crashing down
slumping into a heap of bitter memories.
