Love Poem by Kathlene Ann

Love

A reluctant tear streams from my eye
As you dissapear again from my side.

I love you.

My heart aches more than can be borne
By one so helpless and alone.

I love you.

I miss you more than my own blood,
Which drips, uncared for, to the floor.

I love you.

The emotional stress seems enormous,
Even compared to my physical pains and scars.

I love you.

No cut can wound me so deeply as my love for you,
Which is yours as is the rest of me, if you'd care to notice.

I love you.

The pangs, like mini heart attacks, draw tears,
Wet and salty, from my relentless, red-seeing eyes.

I love you.

You were gone so long I forgot why I was sad
And simply felt the emptiness of an abandoned seashell.

I love you.

Red rubies pumped from my heart drip darkly on this sharp-shining edge.
I've forgotten how to miss you or feel pain.

I love you.

Please come save me tonight, my love.
...
No one answers.
No one's there.
'Tis just me and the midnight air.
Do not fault me for that sigh.
Why should I be a happy guy?
I look at the stars upon the sky
And wish for us, wish that I-!
... Love.
