Love And Friendship. Poem by Susan Evance

Love And Friendship.

OF Love the raptur'd Poet sings-
Blooming enchanting as the day;
But ah remember, Love has wings-
He smiles- and charms- and flits away.

Sweet Friendship, meek and constant Pow'r!
I'll breathe my tenderest vows to thee;
Thou shalt illume my mortal hour,
And gild a bright eternity.
