Love And The Slow Learner

I could see that she could see
what she called love and gave to me.
Calendars she gave to me and diaries of days
With love mapped out on every page
what she called love and gave to me.

And as each day in turn rolled by
with every tryst we did comply.
In time my love increased in passion
while her love she began to ration
and as the seasons did unfold
my heart in time in love enrolled.

Then she grew tired of duplicity
recalled her love, ’said goodbye to me.
Now I can see what she could see
what she called love and gave to me.
And I look back at that happy when
knowing now what she knew the
