Love Beyond The Vail. Poem by Dylan Bourne

Love Beyond The Vail.

I saw her, and thought of nothing
but the joy of meeting a friend.
Little did I know
I had already been enchanted beyond reason.

Her presence stirred a vastness in me
too great to hold,
and within it, a silent sorrow.
For though she walks beside me,
her heart beats for another,
while mine, trapped in silence,
beats only for her.

For my love grows quietly, relentlessly,
nurtured in shadows where sunlight never stays.
It aches for more, yet knows its place
unseen, unfelt,
but always there.

For I am her silver lining beyond the horizon,
seen only when needed,
heard only when necessary,
forever a light of love
hidden behind the shadows.

She may never know.
But as her pillars may fall,
I shall not falter.
I will stand
unseen, perhaps,
but unshaken.
Never broken.
